Pounding Mill, VA(March 11, 2011) -- Adam Long will be one of more than 25 drivers this weekend kicking off the UARA-STARS Series season this weekend at Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, NC.

Long has spent the last three seasons behind the wheel of a Late Model Stock Car primarily at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA and while the young driver has yet to take his car to victory lane, he has been inching in on doing just that. This season long will be bouncing back and forth between competing in the UARA and racing weekly at Motor Mile Speedway.

This weekends UARA 150 at Hickory will help kick off the UARA-STARS Series season as well as Long's schedule of more than 17 races in his Late Model Stock Car. Long is looking forward to returning to Hickory after racing there on a couple of occasions last season and running strong in one

of the tracks signature races, the Fall Brawl.

"For whatever reason, I've really started to run good at Hickory," said Long. "It's nothing like Motor Mile where I have my most experience, but we figured something out there last fall. I'm really looking forward to getting back there this weekend, especially after how well our testing has been going."

Long has tested several times on the historic 3/8 mile track in Newton, NC and feels like he and his team are prepared for a strong run to open the season at Hickory.

"We feel really good about going to Hickory," continued Long. "After we had our strong run here last season, we went to Myrtle Beach and had one of the best runs of my career in the big race down there. That's given me and my guys a lot of confidence going into this race."

Long and the rest of the UARA drivers will tackle Hickory Motor Speedway this weekend beginning with a series controlled test on Friday, March 11th and then they'll take to the track on Saturday for the UARA 150. If you can't make it out to Hickory this weekend to watch Long and the rest of the UARA tour in action, be sure to log on to www.RACE22.com for LIVE updates, videos, photos and more starting on Friday.
